Claudia Piccinno was born in southern Italy in 1970 and shortly thereafter moved to northern Italy, where she still lives today and teaches elementary school.
Her poems have been published in more than 100 anthologies worldwide (e.g., India, Malaysia, Singapore, Turkey, the USA, Poland, and China), along with her own books, which have been translated into several languages. She has received numerous awards for her poetry at major national and international poetry competitions.
Among other honors, she was the first Italian poet to be awarded the World Literature Prize in Istanbul in November 2016 and was honored with Pentasi Prizes in Ghana and India. In 2018, she received the Naji Naaman Literature Prize from Lebanon.
